Caught them during happy hour! You can order discounted items on their special menu. I got the cucumber salad for an app which was just alright. I got the spicy California which was pretty good, but wish there was more. Service and ambience is great. It's a nice little spot!

I've had this spot saved in my must try collection for a new months now because of the gorgeous pictures against that pretty floral wall. Finally got to try it today for a late birthday celebration and the sushi here's got looks & taste! The service was nice despite the lines since there's a Yelp elite experience going on at the same time. We were able to joke around a bit with the waitresses and give compliments to the food. The spicy edamame was one of the best I've tried in a minute, the ocean wrap was very nicely marinated, and the truffle in the M in Holly street was perfectly balanced. That sushi deluxe omakase was perfection. I'm considering changing my Mother's Day plans tomorrow to come back here again!

The fish is super fresh. The seasonings are understated (not in a bad way at all). The presentation was lovely. We had veggie tempura, albacore special roll, and a bento box. It's also expensive, especially for a place with a very sad true crime murder mystery on t.v. Maybe the t.v. part was accidental, but I would pay more not to have t.v., especially if it's sad or sports... this was both. I didn't say anything to the servers, so I'm not rounding down a star, but I wouldn't bring friends here either. We will probably be back sometime, because the fish was good quality and it's close to home. Parking was easy on a Wednesday night. We'll also try ordering different things, because we liked but didn't love our choices today. Overall, it's solid.

Food was good but nothing out particularly outstanding. I got the sashimi plus lunch special and my bf got a bento box with chicken teriyaki and bbq short ribs. Service was quick and staff friendly. It was nice that they have lunch specials every day which comes with miso soup and a salad. Patio dining was nice on a 78 degree day.

I came with a reservation at 6pm on Friday and got a table inside. The menu is quite extensive so it took us awhile to decide on what we wanted. In the end this is what we got. Love at first bite roll - This was delicious and is larger than many rolls you see at other places. They load up on the crab and sauces were well balanced. Delicious (4.5/5) Playboy - A unique roll that is sour and savory. They literally put lemon slices on top and the sauce is pretty tangy. It's weird but I actually like it. Playboys are wild I guess. (4/5) 15 Mixed Sashimi - This is a must get if you're trying to spend. $59 but the fish is high quality and super fresh. No fishy taste and tasted like melty butter. It is presented very nice on its own bowl in the shape of a tree trunk. You get like two of each piece so it's sharable with someone else. It's delicious. (5/5) A pretty nice spot for a romantic date night (ambience is dark and it has a small lamp on each table) or if you want solid sushi here in old town Pasadena. In total for the rolls and sashimi we spent $100 without tip so it's on the pricey/ higher end side. Fresh eats, literally!

My coworker and I wanted sushi for lunch and stopped by last week. It's a hidden spot on Holly. We were going to sit inside but it smelled very fishy so we asked to sit outside. The prices are overrated for what it actually is. We got a spicy edamame, love at first bite roll and playboy roll. The playboy roll was delicious. It had lemon on top. The love at first bite roll was really good too but it wasn't enough protein. It seemed like it was filled with mostly rice and barely any tuna. Good place but overpriced.

Tucked away in Pasadena, Mama M Sushi is a cozy spot that's perfect for a laid-back sushi night. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, so just keep an eye out for a good spot and remember to feed the meter! I dropped by on a busy Sunday evening, but luck was on our side - we snagged a table without having to wait. Mama M's menu is like a sushi lover's dream, with so many options to choose from. After checking out what they had to offer, we settled on a few things: - **Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice:** This dish was a fun twist on the usual spicy tuna roll. The crispy rice cakes were topped with creamy avocado and spicy tuna, giving each bite a nice crunch and burst of flavor. - **Amazon Roll:** We decided to try something a little different with this rice-free roll. It had a mix of salmon, tuna, albacore, and avocado wrapped in cucumber. It was light, refreshing, and surprisingly satisfying! - **Hamachi Kama:** This grilled yellowtail fish collar was the star of the show. It came with salad, soup, and rice, and the fish was perfectly cooked - tender and flavorful. - **Salmon Don:** Sometimes simplicity is best, and this dish proved it. Fresh salmon on a bed of sushi rice - simple but really good the sushi rice was spot on. Overall, Mama M Sushi really impressed us with its tasty food and cozy atmosphere. Whether you're in the mood for something traditional or want to try something new, this place has got you covered. So next time you're craving sushi, why not give Mama M a try?

Mama M Sushi is a quiet and cute little sushi restaurant with an expansive menu and sweet staff! When we got to the restaurant, we were met with smiling faces and were quick to be seated. The menu is quite large and offers something for everyone; There is also a lunch menu offered. We got the two Omakase Lunch for about $26 each and it was well worth it. The fish was so fresh here and I swear if we lived in Pasadena we would be in here all the time!

Mama M is such a cute find in Pasadena! It's small but cozy and the staff are so sweet. We got rib tonkotsu ramen, Amazon roll, and a few pieces of toro and blue fin sushi. Everything was so delicious and the egg in the ramen was one of the best I've had! My Amazon roll was the perfect size and felt filling in addition to the sushi pieces. The sauce added so much flavor and the fish here is absolutely delicious - definitely tastes high quality. They also don't skimp on the size when you order sushi/sashimi so I'd say this is a must try here. Would recommend for a date night!
